The Snow Removal Driver is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient snow and ice removal
from parking lots, walkways, and other designated areas during winter months. The driver
operates snowplows, salt spreaders, and other snow removal equipment to maintain clear and
safe conditions for drivers, pedestrians, and property owners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Snow Plowing: Operate snowplows and other heavy equipment to remove snow and ice
    from parking lots, sidewalks, and other public/private areas.
  • Salt Application: Distribute salt to help prevent ice accumulation on surfaces.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain snow removal equipment, including
    plows, trucks, and spreaders. Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure proper
    function.
  • Route Management: Follow designated snow removal routes and prioritize high-traffic
    areas, including emergency routes, to ensure the safety and accessibility of roads.
  • Monitoring Weather Conditions: Continuously monitor weather conditions to assess
    the need for snow removal and adjust work schedules accordingly.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, traffic laws, and company protocols
    to ensure the safety of yourself, other workers, and the public.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete daily reports and logs of work performed,
    including snow conditions, hours worked, equipment maintenance, and material usage.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency requests for snow removal during storms
    or adverse weather conditions.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with property owners, managers, and supervisors
    to report progress, issues, and any additional snow removal needs.
  • Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience operating snow removal equipment (plows, salt
    spreaders, etc.) is highly desirable.
    • Licenses/Certifications:
    o Valid “G” driver’s license.
    o Snow removal and safety training certifications are a plus.
    • Skills:
    o Ability to operate and maintain snow removal machinery and equipment.
    o Knowledge of road safety and winter driving conditions.
    o Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
    o Ability to work in extreme cold, snowy, and icy conditions for extended hours.
    Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in challenging weather conditions.
    • Long periods of sitting and driving.
    • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required
    during snowstorms.

    Work Environment:
    This position requires working outdoors in winter weather conditions, including snow, ice, and
    cold temperatures. Extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be necessary
    depending on weather events.
    Additional Information:
    Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Operate trucks, machines, and equipment to plow snow from parking areas, loading
    docks, and walkways.
    • Salt parking areas, loading docks, and walkways using trucks, machines, and equipment.
    • Fill salt bins as needed.
    • Keep trucks and machines free of garbage on a daily basis.
    • Fuel trucks, machines, and equipment at the beginning and end of each shift, as needed.
    • Use company Visa card to purchase fuel, salt, and related supplies.
    • Shovel and snow-blow walkways and steps when required.
    • Record hours worked and job descriptions accurately on daily log sheets.
    • Perform all snow and ice removal services safely, efficiently, and without property
    damage.
    • Advise management promptly if vehicles, equipment, or machines require repairs.
    • Check and top up oil levels on vehicles, machines, and equipment when low.
    • Check and refill windshield washer fluid on all vehicles at the beginning and end of each
    shift.
    Key Expectations:
  • Ensure all properties are serviced thoroughly and on time.
    • Maintain a strong focus on safety and property protection.
    • Communicate proactively with management regarding any issues, delays, or concerns.

    Qualifications/requirements
    Valid driver’s license
    Ability to work nights
    Heavy equipment experience
Job Location: Work within GTA
Pay Rate: $ 25-30 depending on experience
